New VAT Rate

The new VAT Rate and what you need to know:

 

For a smooth transition on your Electronic Cash Register / POS system to increase value added tax (VAT) to 15%, from 14%, with effect of 1 April 2018 please take note of the following guidelines:

 

For all cash registers: if you are displaying VAT details on your slip you must change the VAT rate on the cash register.  Note that changing the VAT rate does not automatically change your selling prices, this is will have to be done manually by yourself.  Below will be a brief list of procedures on how to change the VAT rate from 14% to 15% on selected cash registers.

 

For all STK clients: you will have to change the VAT rate on STK as well as on the cash register (as listed below) and you will have to purchase a utility from Posisolve to change your cost/selling prices. We suggest that you ensure that you have a computer with internet access for this purpose, otherwise you will have to visit the store before hand to obtain a copy.

To change the VAT rate in STK:  Go to the Activities Menu, select VAT Details, enter 15.00 for the Standard Rate and click on Close.

 

For all Poswiz/Unisolve clients: you will have to change the VAT rate on the system, as well as contact Posisolve to purchase a utility/update which will allow you adjust your cost/selling prices accordingly. Note: You will need internet access to be able to download the utility/update or you will have to visit the store before hand to obtain a copy.

To Change the VAT rate in Poswizard:  Go the the Activities Menu, select VAT Details, enter 15.00 for the Standard Rate, Click on the tick to save the new rate and Click on the Close button.

 

How change the VAT rate on your cash register:

 

NTS G1000 Cash register:

1.   Turn key to P1
2.   Scroll to TAX&VAT
3.   Press CASH/Enter
4.   Set TAX/VAT to VAT
5.   Scroll to Default Rate
6.   Select VAT1 and enter 15
7.   Press CASH/Enter
8.   Press Subtotal/Esc
9.   Set Print to X if you do not want the VAT to print or select the tick if you want the VAT to print.
10. Scroll to SAVE, press CASH/Enter to save and press Subtotal/Esc to exit.
11. Turn your key back to Reg.

 

NTS G3000

1.   Press Esc to Main Menu
2.   Scroll to TAX&VAT
3.   Press CASH/Enter
4.   Set TAX/VAT to VAT
5.   Scroll to Default Rate
6.   Select VAT1 and enter 15
7.   Press CASH/Enter
8.   Press Subtotal/Esc
9.   Set Print to X if you do not want the VAT to print or select the tick if you want the VAT to print.
10. Scroll to SAVE, press CASH/Enter to save and press Subtotal/Esc to exit

 

Aclas Cash Register

1.   Enter the Main Menu
2.   Select System Set
3.   Scroll to Financial Set
4.  Select TAX Rate
5.  Enter 15
6.  Press CASH
7.  Press Esc to exit

 

NX5400/S9000 Cash register

1.   Turn key to SP
2.   Enter 107
3.   Press X/Time
4.   Enter 1
5.   Press the POINT button
6.   Enter 15.000
7.   Press X/Time twice
8.   Press CL twice
9.   Turn Key to R

 

Sarema XT60 Cash register

1.   Turn key to SET
2.   Enter 11
3.   Press TYPE (top button of the 4th row)
4.   Press ENTER 3 times  (top button of the 6th row)
5.   Enter the new VAT rate 1500
6.   Press ENTER
7.   Turn key to Register

 

For SAM4S and Samsung Cash Registers:

1.    Print a Financial Z report
2.   Turn the key to the S position(one past PGM on the mode lock)
3.   Enter 70
4.   Press Subtotal
5.   Select the function associated with the current VAT rate
        -  ER-380 register  Enter 098 for TAX 1 or 099 for TAX 2
        -  ER-390 register  Enter 184 for  TAX 1 or 185 for TAX 2
        -  ER-420 register  Enter 134 for TAX 1 or 135 for TAX 2
        -  ER-S200 register  Enter 203 for TAX 1 or 204 for TAX 2
6.   Press a function on the keyboard which is not used, to set a TAX program button
7.   Press CASH and then turn the key to the PGM position
8.   Using the numeric keys (10keypad) type in the new VAT rate: 15.000
9.   Enter 2 if the product prices are including VAT or 0(zero) if the product prices are excluding VAT
10. Enter 0(zero) then press the TAX program button recently allocated on the keyboard
11.  Press the CASH button and turn the key to the REG position
